Daily Prayers for November 27

O Lord, let my soul rise up to meet you

as the day rises to meet the sun.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Come, let us sing to the Lord : let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.

Song “Solid Rock”

Show us your goodness, Lord : and steady our hearts in you.

Psalm 125

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion : which cannot be moved, but stands fast for ever.

The hills stand about Jerusalem : so does the Lord stand round about his -people, from this time forth for evermore.

The scepter of the wicked shall not hold sway over the land allotted to the just : so that the just shall not put their hands to evil.

Show your goodness, O Lord, to those who are good : and to those who are true of heart.

As for those who turn aside to crooked ways, the Lord will lead them away with the evildoers : but peace be upon Israel.

Show us your goodness, Lord : and steady our hearts in you.

Zephaniah 3:1 – 13 Mark 13:1 – 8

Show us your goodness, Lord : and steady our hearts in you.

Genesius the Actor had a conversion experience while mocking Christians before Emperor Diocletian and was martyred for his faith. He said, “There is no other Lord beside him whom I have seen. Him I worship and serve, and to him I will cling, though I should suffer a thousand deaths.”

Prayers for Others

Our Father

Lord, steady our feet when the world tries to rock and shake our faith. When materialism beckons with coy hands, steady our feet. When lust sashays within us, steady our feet. When fear tugs at our knees, steady our faith. Show us your goodness, and steady our hearts in you. Amen.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you : wherever he may send you;

may he guide you through the wilderness : protect you through the storm;

may he bring you home rejoicing : at the wonders he has shown you;

may he bring you home rejoicing : once again into our doors.
