Daily Prayers for March 1

O Lord, let my soul rise up to meet you

as the day rises to meet the sun.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Come, let us bow down and bend the knee : let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Song “Waters of Babylon”

Take our tears, Lord : to water the seeds of prayer.

Psalm 6:6 9

I grow weary because of my groaning : every night I drench my bed and flood my couch with tears.

My eyes are wasted with grief : and worn away because of all my enemies.

Depart from me, all evildoers : for the Lord has heard the sound of my weeping.

The Lord has heard my supplication : the Lord accepts my prayer.

Take our tears, Lord : to water the seeds of prayer.

Genesis 43:1 – 15 Mark 1:1 – 13

Take our tears, Lord : to water the seeds of prayer.

Julian of Norwich wrote in the fourteenth century, “The worst has already happened and been repaired. . . . All shall be well, all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.”

Prayers for Others

Our Father

Lord, we are grateful that you can use every experience to draw us closer to you. Our trials and triumphs alike can finally be sown in the garden of our faith. Amen.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you : wherever he may send you;

may he guide you through the wilderness : protect you through the storm;

may he bring you home rejoicing : at the wonders he has shown you;

may he bring you home rejoicing : once again into our doors.
