Daily Prayers for November 5

O Lord, let my soul rise up to meet you

as the day rises to meet the sun.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Come, let us bow down and bend the knee : let us kneel before the Lord our Maker.

Teach us the fear that leads to wisdom : and the love that drives out fear.

Psalm 25:11 – 14

Who are they who fear the Lord? : he will teach them the way that they should choose.

They shall dwell in prosperity : and their offspring shall inherit the land.

The Lord is a friend to those who fear him : and will show them his covenant.

My eyes are ever looking to the Lord : for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.

Our Father

Lord, if we are to be afraid of anything, let it be the fear of not committing ourselves fully to you. Let us fear that the day will pass without our having lightened the load of another. Let us fear that someone will come looking for you and find only us. Amen.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you : wherever he may send you;

may he guide you through the wilderness : protect you through the storm;

may he bring you home rejoicing : at the wonders he has shown you;

may he bring you home rejoicing : once again into our doors.
