Daily Prayers for November 7

O Lord, let my soul rise up to meet you

as the day rises to meet the sun.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,

as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Come, let us sing to the Lord : let us shout for joy to the Rock of our salvation.

Song “The Kingdom of God”

Establish our works in justice, Lord : and make us anew out of the stuff that lasts.

Psalm 37:19 21, 28 29

The Lord cares for the lives of the godly : and their inheritance shall last for ever.

They shall not be ashamed in bad times : and in days of famine they shall have enough.

As for the wicked, they shall perish : and the enemies of the Lord, like the glory of the meadows, shall vanish; they shall vanish like smoke.

Turn from evil, and do good : and dwell in the land for ever.

For the Lord loves justice : he does not forsake his faithful ones.

Establish our works in justice, Lord : and make us anew out of the stuff that lasts.

Joel 2:28 – 3:8 Revelation 11:14 – 19

Establish our works in justice, Lord : and make us anew out of the stuff that lasts.

A reading from Paul’s letter to the Romans: “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God — this is true worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Prayers for Others

Our Father

Lord, save us from times of trial, strengthen us to stand firm in the faith, and fill us with joy at your coming. Amen.

May the peace of the Lord Christ go with you : wherever he may send you;

may he guide you through the wilderness : protect you through the storm;

may he bring you home rejoicing : at the wonders he has shown you;

may he bring you home rejoicing : once again into our doors.
